Fáilte go líonláithreán Dáiraide!

We are Dearbhfine Dáiraide, a Sinnsreachd family in Northern Virginia. Our name translates basically as "the extended family of Dáire". We are an active part of a movement aimed at reviving the polytheistic, pre-Christian religion and culture of the Gael (more on Sinnsreachd can be found here). This does not mean that we are an anachronistic society or living history group. We honor the gods of our ancestors, as well as follow their social structure and moral codes, but we do so within a modern context. We wear modern clothes, live in modern houses, and enjoy the same modern conveniences as most people. Where we differ culturally is primarily in our worldview and how we organize our society. This is covered in more detail elsewhere on this site.

Our dearbhfine is made up of myself, my wife, and our eight children. Technically, this makes us a teaghlach (household) but I feel comfortable calling us a dearbhfine for our size. As far as I know, we are unique in that we are the largest single family among the Sinsearaithe. We live in a semi rural area just outside of a city.

Detailed information about how Sinnsreachd tuatha generally operate is available elsewhere (see the links section). So, in this website we have for the most part tried to show how the Dáiraide specifically conduct themselves.
